Rickety Kate is a trick-taking card game where players aim to earn the lowest score. In each round, players compete by playing cards from the same suit, with the player holding the highest card of that suit losing the trick. Notably, winning a trick may not always be advantageous.
In Rickety Kate, the Queen of Spades holds a value of 10 points against the player, while other Spades accumulate 1 point each. Upon emptying their hand, players are dealt a new one.
Players can achieve a score of zero by collecting all Spades in a hand, known as 'Shooting the Moon.' Prior to each round, participants pass three of their lowest cards to an adjacent player, with Aces and Kings considered as such.
The game offers a variety of customizable settings and configurations:

- Number Of Players At Table: 3 - 7 (Empty seats filled by robots)
- Number Of Human Players At Table: 1 - 7 (Supports pass-and-play mode)

- Game Finishing Score: 50 - 500
- Speed of Card Animations: Slow - Fast

- Include Hooligan (Seven of Clubs) Worth 7 points: Yes/No
- Include Omnibus (Jack of Diamonds) Worth Negative 10 points: Yes/No
